WHO WE ARE

FOUNDER

Brenda Morgan, PhD

During the past 35 years, Brenda has served as a university professor, director of human services personnel and volunteers, private therapist, consultant and public speaker and trainer for personnel in various aspects of society, as well as being involved with various grant programs for staff and services to clientele. During the past 15-20 years she has served as a meditation teacher and mentor. All of her life work has focused upon relationships: to the Earth, to each other and to Life itself.

As the Founder of For Generations To Come, a culmination of her desire to serve humanity and to give back to the Earth is being realized. What will be shared in such an environmentally-honored and humanly-ignited space will catalyze others of any age, race or condition to enter the world as a participant in its healing on many levels: from the personal to the local community, the nation and worldwide. How they do so will depend upon their unique interests and creativity. This is a living dream, and is already being actualized by the interest of the 70 or so people who have shown the desire and energy, creativity and maturity, to bring such a space to southeast Michigan. They originally came together through the exploration of meditation as a way to deepen their ability to feel, understand and serve the world through their unique expression within it. Brenda has been actively helping them with the meditative process over the past 15 years.

Laura Remy

At 27 years of age, Laura immigrated to the United States in 1983 from Buenos Aries, Argentina. She owned and operated a successful food business and distributorship for over 8 years, designing and producing cookies. She understood that the basis for a successful business was not just the product itself, but also relationships and communication with others. As a bi-lingual social caseworker in the United States for 15 years, she served people who were experiencing severe distress in their lives. Such work raised all kinds of questions for her regarding social, economic and religious choices that we make: from Vietnam veterans with PTSD to those with severe drug addictions, issues with homelessness, or terminal AIDS cases. Due to the intense stress level in such a job, she developed the ability to find something positive, day by day, to counterbalance working with human suffering at such extreme levels. These experiences helped her to develop a profound understanding that the human impulse for living and healing resides deep in our beings, and can be accessed no matter what is happening around us. While still in Argentina, Laura performed and taught dance for 9 years. The dance training was particularly demanding mentally, physically and spiritually, especially as she was an adult and mother when she started! However, the constant search for the elusive piece of Laura’s soul which wished to manifest itself through dance and movement ended when she entered training in this area, as she was able to blend her heart’s expression with her body’s expression. This ignited the awareness that there is a critical need to express through the body, to be grounded and feeling the Earth through one’s form, and is as important as breathing or eating if one wishes to fully engage life.
