“TOOL TIME IN NATURE”
Have you ever wondered why some shovels have long handles and others have short ones and which one works best? Why is a sharp saw not the only factor in how well it cuts wood? Why does our body tire easily with some tools while working effortlessly with others? Join us to learn the answers to these questions and numerous other ones which are guaranteed to make outdoor work easier. Open to all. With Larry Gilbert
“BACK TO THE NURTURE: A Geek’s Guide to Reconnecting with Nature”
Gadgets, video games, robots, special effects, new tech tools... it's enough to keep you busy day after day! But what about the other many parts of life? At the end of a day on the computer it can feel like you are a floating head, or maybe a set of dis-embodied eyes typing away, but not feeling really happy, or very connected to life, loved ones, and the Earth. You know your way around the internet, but you may have a feeling that other aspects of life are lacking something, unfulfilled, or latent. In this workshop we will explore ways to integrate greater connections to everything by experiencing Nature's many aspects. Tools will be shared about how to take this back into your daily life. With Tamara Wendt
“FAMILY CIRCLES, NATURE CIRCLES”
Nature is a universal language which allows us to come together. It bridges gaps that many people may sense, but put off actually dealing with “until tomorrow.” This once a month on-going series for families, friends and individuals helps to bridge that ‘gap.’ Nature Circles help people of all ages learn to deepen their relationships instead of allowing their busy lives, lack of time or just feeling disconnected to get in the way. With Molly Jarin, Coordinator
“THE ART OF TREE TRIMMING”
Learning how to remove unneeded and dying parts of trees is more than a visual experience. Learning to feel the relationship with these large perennial woody plants triggers deeper understandings of Nature and ourselves. With Tim Utter
“FENG SHUI IN THE GARDEN”
Feng Shui is an ancient system which allows us to connect to the Earth and our movements in the world in a deeper way. In this class, we will explore using the creation of your garden as a means to feel the bigger picture of life, help increase your personal awareness, your health and general well-being. With Wendy Warrick
“RESTORING OUR ROOTS”
Attending To Native Plant Species to Support Local Wildlife. Explore the history of native plants to feel the wonder of their gifts to the Earth, wildlife and humans. Learn how and where these plants can be used or grow both in the backyard and nature in general. With Lana Jerome
